CORPS DE TIJ
READY TO WEAR
SPRING/SUMMER 2023
The new collection by EDDIE CORPS is inspired by the waist-enhancing Post War era silhouettes, a symbol of classic femininity; in balkan folklore, translated into puffed sleeves, maxi skirts and voluminous bow-shaped dresses; in the modern and sophisticated Parisian lifestyle, understood as the depuration of excess; and last but not least, in Mexico’s Baja California: where the scorching desert mountains meet the tides of the Pacific Ocean. Both elements of nature are reinterpreted in textured pieces that resemble the rocky landscape, and in colors that reminds us of the raw sand, and blue sequins as an ode to the Sun’s reflection in the water.
The latest travels from the designer and the encounter of three different cultures are the backbone of this collection, as it’s the first time his inspiration surges from his hometown and its similarities found in other countries, reminding us that the world is but one.

“Beyond Seas and Forests”
The creation of this cocktail evokes the spirit of the new EDDIE CORPS collection. It’s all about the fusion between two cultures: Mexican and Romanian, and more precisely from Baja California to Transylvania; both dear to the designer’s his heart.
What exotic mix does this awaken? As surprising as it may seem, and almost 11,000 kilometers apart, the two regions complementary and similars each other, the cocktail takes elements from Mexican and Romanian cultures from their post-war era to transform and reinterpret it bringing this collection to life. It is a reminder of the idea that our planet is mixed, multicultural and we can adopt her/he/it’s as ‘’home”.

The Hôtel de Béhague has housed the Romanian embassy since 1939. Built in 1867 for the Countess Amédée de Béhague and modified in several stages by her granddaughter, the Countess Martine de Béhague, this private residence possesses some real treasures: a monumental staircase decorated in polychrome marble, a 1731 François Boucher painting, a ballroom, a Louis XIV-style wooden staircase, a perfectly preserved 19th century library and a garden rich in sculptures and statues. But the area that best characterizes the Hôtel de Béhague and which gave it its nickname 'Byzantium of the 7th arrondissement' is the private theatre. With its porphyry columns and Byzantine mosaics, it is the emblem of the place.
